ALEPH · Aleph Cloud

UtilityPays for decentralized cloud resources on Aleph.im.

What it is

Aleph (Aleph Cloud) is a cross-blockchain layer-2 network for decentralized applications and their infrastructure: storage, computing, and messaging. It aims to decentralize web and cloud services.

Technology & consensus

An off-chain peer-to-peer pubsub network carries signed messages anchored on underlying blockchains; packing nodes validate and commit message hashes on-chain while storage nodes pin IPFS data. The paper predates the current Core Channel and Compute Resource Node design.

Token utility

ALEPH incentivizes packing and storage nodes (rewards per signed message written on-chain and for data pinning and API availability) and pays for storage and on-chain writes. Initial issuance was 1B with inflation starting near 10% and declining to 1%.

Key risks & notes

The 2019 paper is explicitly a work in progress and the design has since evolved into Aleph Cloud. Early architecture centered on NULS. Decentralized-cloud competition, node availability and data-migration limits, and token-demand dependence are risks.

What does the holder own?

Title, redemption claim, fractional ownership, reserve exposure — or just narrative.

ALEPH is the native token of the Aleph Cloud decentralized compute and storage network. Users pay for storage, indexing and compute services with ALEPH; node operators stake ALEPH as collateral to run Core Channel Nodes and earn ALEPH rewards; holders can delegate stake to nodes they trust. Independent research notes the network has no token-holder governance mechanism.

Verified
Who holds the underlying?

Needs an identifiable custodian or entity — not a wallet address or a label.

No underlying exists by design. ALEPH is a bearer utility/work token with no backing claim and no custodian; official and MiCA-format documentation describe only service payment, staking and incentive functions.

high confidence

Evidence: [1]

Verified
How are reserves checked?

Custodian records → inventory → third-party audit → supply reconciliation.

No reserves exist by design. Maximum supply is 500 million ALEPH (halved from the original one billion), issued across Ethereum, Solana, BSC, Base, Tezos and Avalanche, and auditable on-chain; reported staked amounts are consistent with a large circulating supply.

medium confidence

Verified
How does redemption work?

Eligibility, minimums, fees, KYC, settlement — and what happens to the token.

No redemption is promised. Staking is noncustodial with no vesting or lockup — users can unstake at any time without affecting principal — and pay-as-you-go token streams simply stop when closed; these are usage and participation mechanics, not redemption against an issuer.

Verified
Who is liable if redemption fails?

A legally accountable entity and jurisdiction — not a DAO label.

Researched 2026-09-15: no identifiable legal entity behind the ALEPH token could be confirmed from accessible materials, and no holder claim on any entity is documented. The MiCA-format whitepaper hosted via Revolut documents the token itself, but the issuer's legal identity and jurisdiction are not publicly disclosed in the reviewed sources.

❔ UNVERIFIED means not yet researched — not disproven. Rows marked “researched” were investigated and independent evidence was not found. Coverage expands as FORTUNA verifies. This dossier was researched 2026-09-15. Method: FORA-01 Asset Claim Verification Protocol.

❔ Frequently asked questions

What is Aleph Cloud (ALEPH)?

Aleph (Aleph Cloud) is a cross-blockchain layer-2 network for decentralized applications and their infrastructure: storage, computing, and messaging. It aims to decentralize web and cloud services.

What is Aleph Cloud's verification status?

Aleph Cloud (ALEPH) carries verification class C (Class C): one or more questions are UNVERIFIED — researched, but independent evidence was not found. Unverified is a legitimate result, not a disproof. What would change it: Independent evidence on the unverified questions would move it — that is what UNVERIFIED invites.
