StaFi

FIS · StaFi

UtilityGovernance and rewards token for the StaFi protocol.

What it is

StaFi is a cross-chain liquid staking protocol issuing rTokens that represent staked principal plus staking rewards. It lets users keep liquidity while their assets are staked.

Technology & consensus

Staking contracts plus validator and operator infrastructure coordinate deposits, reward accrual, and withdrawals across supported chains. rTokens are transferable and redeemable against the underlying stake.

Token utility

FIS is used for protocol fees, staking and network access, governance, liquidity provision, and incentive programs.

Key risks & notes

Validator slashing and smart-contract risk apply; rToken peg, liquidity, and cross-chain exposure matter. Supply-schedule ambiguity and liquid-staking competition are risks. Official documentation substitutes for the original paper corpus.

What does the holder own?

Title, redemption claim, fractional ownership, reserve exposure — or just narrative.

FIS is the native token of the StaFi chain (a Substrate-based chain using NPoS consensus), a liquid-staking protocol. Holders use FIS to pay network transaction fees, participate in governance voting, stake as validators or nominators to secure the chain and earn rewards, and provide liquidity. Total supply is 800 million FIS. Note the separate rTokens (rETH, rDOT, rKSM, etc.) are the receipts representing users' staked assets — FIS itself is not a claim on those assets.

Who holds the underlying?

Needs an identifiable custodian or entity — not a wallet address or a label.

No underlying asset exists behind FIS by design. Project documentation frames FIS as the chain's gas and network-security token; user assets staked through StaFi's staking contracts are represented by separate rTokens and are not backing for FIS. No reserves or custodied assets behind FIS are claimed or evidenced.

How are reserves checked?

Custodian records → inventory → third-party audit → supply reconciliation.

No reserves exist behind FIS to check. The 800 million max supply and the chain's staking economics are auditable on-chain; a 2025 governance proposal moved to reduce StaFiChain's 10% fixed inflation by 4 points per year toward 0% by 2027, with a 2024-introduced FIS burn mechanism. Supply and validator data are observable on the StaFi chain itself.

Verified
How does redemption work?

Eligibility, minimums, fees, KYC, settlement — and what happens to the token.

No redemption mechanism exists or is promised for FIS. It is not redeemable for rTokens, staked user assets, or anything else; FIS staked with validators or nominators is returned as FIS following the chain's unbonding rules, not redeemed for an underlying asset.

Evidence: [1]

Verified
Who is liable if redemption fails?

A legally accountable entity and jurisdiction — not a DAO label.

No redemption obligation exists, so no entity is liable for redemption failure. Holders bear protocol and market risk, including slashing exposure for FIS staked to validators on the StaFi chain, plus the competition and execution risk the project itself documents (rivals include Lido and Ankr).

What is StaFi's verification status?

StaFi (FIS) carries verification class A (Class A): every applicable FORA-01 question is VERIFIED — a full verification chain. What would change it: A status change would require new evidence — a status never changes from reinterpreting old evidence.
