What it is
Succinct is a decentralized prover network — a two-sided marketplace on Ethereum where applications submit zero-knowledge proof requests and independent provers compete to fulfill them, making verifiable computation as simple as an API call. Mainnet and the PROVE token launched in August 2025; official documentation is at docs.succinct.xyz.
Technology & consensus
The network uses off-chain execution with on-chain settlement (similar to L2 designs): proofs are generated off-chain by competing provers and posted to Ethereum for independent verification, with auctions coordinated through on-chain contracts. This design targets low latency for rollups, bridges, oracles, AI agents, and other verifiable-compute workloads.
Token utility
PROVE is the network's medium of exchange: requesters deposit it into the SuccinctVApp escrow contract to pay provers on verified proof delivery. Provers and delegates must stake PROVE (via nested iPROVE vaults) to enter auctions, with staked amounts gating concurrent auction participation, and holders gain governance rights over protocol parameters.
Key risks & notes
Status: no_whitepaper_found — the project references a whitepaper in its launch materials but no official standalone whitepaper URL could be verified and fetched this session; summary grounded in official docs excerpts and the MiCA filing. Risks: very new mainnet with unproven prover economics; competition from other ZK proving networks; proving costs and centralization among large provers.
