What it is
TREE is the governance and data token of Treehouse, a decentralized fixed-income infrastructure protocol that produces Decentralized Offered Rates (DOR) - on-chain interest-rate benchmarks for lending rates, staking rates, and forward-rate products.
Technology & consensus
An ERC-1363 token on Ethereum. Panelists submit interest-rate data and forecasts via proprietary models into a decentralized rate-setting process; the resulting DOR feeds are consumed via API and Ethereum oracle for indices, lending-rate products, and perpetual DEX listings.
Token utility
Three functions: (1) DAO governance over protocol parameters and design; (2) paying query fees in TREE to access DOR data; (3) staking TREE (or eligible tAssets) as a panelist to participate in the rate-setting process.
Key risks & notes
Research-access caveat: an official TREE MiCA whitepaper exists on Treehouse's own GitBook but could not be fetched, so this summary is drawn from its contents as quoted in MiCA filings. Risks: benchmark/oracle adoption is unproven against entrenched rate indices, and the token grants no profit or redemption rights - functionality is limited to governance and fee payment once mechanisms are fully implemented.
